JPEG - 25.6 kb Selmane SAKHER is a PhD? student at the IMBE? (Mediterranean Institute of Biodiversity and marine and terrestrial Ecology). He is working on the characterization and the spatio-temporal variability of coralligenous assemblages between the northern and the southern shores of the western Mediterranean sea. He is supervised by Jean-Pierre Féral (CNRS?) & Stéphane Sartoretto (IFREMER?).
He got a Master by Research in Expertise and Management of the Coastal Environment at the European Institute of Marine Studies (IUEM), University of Western Brittany, Brest, in which he has done an internship at Deep Environment Laboratory at The French Research Institute for the Exploitation of the Sea (LEP/IFREMER) on the characterization and mapping of deep mega-fauna (cold-water corals and sponges) on a North-East Atlantic seamount.
Before this Msc, he got an Engineering Degree in marine sciences, at the Higher National School of Marine Sciences and Coastal Planning (ENSSMAL), Algiers, where he worked on the implementation of a monitoring network of Posidonia and coralligenous ecosystems.
He is trained for scientific diving (CAH 2B)
