Laure Thierry de Ville d’Avray is currently doing an interdisciplinary PhD? thesis, supervised by Jean-Pierre Féral, Dominique Ami, and Anne Chenuil. The main fields of this thesis are marine ecology (principally) and economy. This study aims to evaluate the ecosystem services provided by coralligenous habitats with an approach that is both ecological and economic. Laure was graduated from the Oceanography Master in « Ecology and Marine Biology » at the University of Aix-Marseille. And, as part of the training, she conducted a 6-month internship for CIGESMED program at the IMBE? ( Méditérannée Institute for Biodiversity and Ecology of marine and continental ). This training made her work on the inter-calibration? issue of monitoring protocols on coralligenous habitats .
Before choosing to move towards marine biology, she was trained as an agricultural engineer at the LaSalle Beauvais Polytechnic Institut. During her last internship (6 months), done at the Conservatory of natural areas of Limousin (CEN Limousin), she worked at proposal to extend a Natura 2000 site?. Then she worked for the CEN Limousin during 6 months on the management of another Natura 2000 site.
